Galle Fort is a historic fort located in the city of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. The fort was built by the Portuguese in the late 16th century and later extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century. It is one of the best-preserved examples of European colonial architecture in Southeast Asia and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
